koroo

A tag on the animal sends its position straight to the herder's phone over radio — no cellular network, no subscription. The owner sees the headcount, the movement and the losses whenever the phone reaches a network.

Coming soon

What it does

  • The herd on a map

Where the animals are now and where they have been — on the herder's phone, with no internet and no subscription.

  • Alerts

Leaving the grazing boundary, sudden movement at night, abnormal activity. The alert reaches whoever is next to the herd.

  • Animal record

Species, sex, age, name or number, the number from the state registry, lineage and event history.

  • Works offline

The herder's app works fully offline: the local map, alerts and event logging. Data reaches the cloud once the phone finds a network.

  • Records for the owner

Headcount, movement, losses and costs across several herds and herders, with report exports.

  • Kyrgyz by default

The herder's interface is in Kyrgyz, Russian is one switch away. Three screens usable with gloves on.

What the rollout includes

  • Choosing the tags and the receiver for your herd
  • Setting the grazing boundaries and alert rules
  • Training the herder on site, not by manual
  • A pilot on one flock, then the whole farm

Status

In development

The product is in development. The market, the architecture and the economics are worked out; the first version is being built and a pilot on a real flock is being prepared. There is no finished system to buy today, and we say so plainly.
